Love Never Fails

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.  (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

Love never fails, its Way is just
It is not proud and offers trust
Sweet charity, its mercy sought
Love hopes all things, forget this not
It does not boast, it does not lust

And yet rejoice in Truth it must
It envies not, remains robust
It is not rude and can’t be bought
Love never fails

It suffers long, it will not rust
It perseveres – won’t turn to dust
God’s Love in us brings on pure thought
It will not die, can’t be distraught
Love will protect – your heart entrust
Love never fails

1 John 4:16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

Matthew 6:19-20 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
