The Lion and The Lamb

The spotless lamb slain,
Raised from the dead in glory,
Judah’s lion reigns.

Poetry Type: Haiku

“Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God.” 1 Peter 1:18-21 (The Message)

Sacrifice

What manner of love
stays obedient through death
as torture’s witness?

Sifted

Ground up and shaken,
Separating weeds and stone.
All chaff and no wheat?

Poetry Type: Haiku

Zephaniah 2:1-2a Gather together, yes, gather, O shameless nation, before the decree takes effect –before the day passes away like chaff– (ESV)

Luke 22:31-32 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” (NKJV)

Psalm 1:3-4 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. (NKJV)
