Mighty To Save

“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”  Zephaniah 3:17

God is with you,
He is mighty to save!

Imparting life
from His very Spirit,
His love is
bolder
than your sins of youth;
broader than the sea;
deeper than the grave.

His gallant love
transforms the meek
to brave;
it’s always longer
than the broken road
and much stronger than
the nails
that held Him.

God is with you,
He is mighty to save!

Like ethereal footprints
on a wave,
love cannot be measured
but is still known.
Fuller and brighter than a starlit sky;
broader than the sea;
deeper than the grave.

God is with you,
He is mighty to save!

His love for you is
higher than heaven,
broader than the sea;
deeper than the grave.

    What hope and truth and reassurance for the coming year. Thank you Scotti

      Hi Sylvia,

      It is so reassuring to remind ourselves that we have a Savior who saves! My sister and my niece were baptized last month (Praise the Lord!) and the Zephania 3:17 verse was the theme of the sermon afterwards. What glorious words to hide in our hearts.

      Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting. Your encouraging words motivate me to keep writing and posting!

  2. Happy New Year Scotti! Been out of the loop a bit, but this is absolutely beautiful. God is definitely in the redemption business still! Have a wonderful new year, and looking forward to much more inspiration from the Lord through you…. beautiful! =)

  3. Scotti!

    Thank you for your poetry! Zeph 3:17 is one of my many favorite verses 🙂 He is truly mighty to save!

    I was taking a much needed bloggy break. With the New Year a return to the blog world! The mountain is Mt. Rainier. I fly past that beauty every Monday morning!

    Take care and may you be blessed mightily in Twenty Ten!

      Hi Lana,
      So glad you are back to blogging. What an amazing photo you took of Mr. Rainier. That one should be on a postcard!
      Blessings,
      Scotti

    Hello Scotti, this is really beautiful and so nice to be reminded of the vastness and depth of His love. I loved the comparisons that you made, my favorite, I think is:
    Like ethereal footprints
    on a wave,
    love cannot be measured
    but is still known.

    Truly breathtaking!

    Hi Scotti,
    May God bless you ever more this year. Thank you for this poem, for me it is a reminder that God’s love is greater than we can imagine….as you have said it is bold…to the point that he displays it by taking human form to hand on nails to show as you have said that his love is deeper than our self-made grave. Thanks for this, it is really a wake up call for me personally..been feeling a little spiritually low lately so thank u loads
    🙂

      May God bless you always, Mwiya, and make His face shine upon you. I pray that 2010 will be a year full of spiritual blessings for you.

  6. Hi Scotti,

    I like this poem very much. I’m rather fond of poems that have a line that repeats, which is probably why I’ve written a lot of quaterns. God truly is mighty to save, and I’m so glad His love is still reaching to people today. Hope you have a wonderful 2010.
    Blessings,
    Carol
