Keep Me

O keep me, Lord, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed or disappointed, for my trust and my refuge are in You. Psalm 25:20

To the only God, my refuge,
My rock and shield, so true and just.
Keep me in Your peace unfailing,
In You alone I place my trust.

The glory of Your majesty,
Now and forever prevailing.
In You alone I place my trust,
Keep me in Your hope unfailing.

To live soberly and righteous,
Crucifying all worldly lust.
Keep me in Your grace unfailing,
In You alone I place my trust.

Lord Jesus Christ, O Blameless One,
Help my sinful soul from ailing.
In You alone I place my trust,
Keep me in the faith unfailing.

Guard my soul and deliver me,
Without You, Lord, I am but dust.
Keep me in Your love unfailing,
In You alone I place my trust.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.

Jude 1:24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

  3. I am an atheist but the poetry is beautiful in its simple intensity.

  4. Greetings. I was here earlier, but didn’t have time to comment. I love the recurring line “In you (Jesus) alone I place my trust.” Our confidence isn’t in the shifting sands of materialism or uncertain riches, but in the living God who has no beginning and no ending. Thanks for an awesome post.

haver a blessed day in Jesus.

  7. Love the usage of “You” and “Your” and how it implies (to me anyway…) that everything we “are” is “of Him”.

  8. Holding on….trusting….trusting….

  9. Beautiful, as always. He alone is the One in whom we trust, ever faithful, ever loving, ever true. Unfailing eternal God, precious Lord Jesus… our life, our breath, our everything!

  10. I love the fact that God not only has the power to save us, but He has the power to keep us as well. I appreciate this prayer, and another verse came to mind as I was reading here.

2Ti 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

    Blessings to you,

    Carol
